Virus Hoaxes

Periodically I receive e-mails from well meaning people warning of viruses that are circulating, sometimes with instructions to delete the offending file which in reality is a legitimate Windows system file.

If you receive such a warning, please check the name of the file / virus against the hoax databases maintained by the major anti-virus companies, and if it is a hoax do not pass the warning on!:
