RedirectionWith this method, you keep your email address settings pretty much as they are already set up. Supposing that you have an email account set up with Freeserve, and your email address is joe@bloggs1234.freeserve.co.uk. With an EGGS redirected email account (eg joe.bloggs.1968@eliotsgreen.com), all mail sent to that address will be instantly passed on to arrive in the freeserve account. You will continue to receive mail sent to your original e-mail address as well. That’s all there is to receiving mail, but how do you set things up so that your new email address is contained in your outgoing emails? In Outlook Express (or whatever email client you are using), you simply select Tools:Accounts:Mail and highlight your current email account. Click on the properties button, and then edit the ‘email address’ and ‘reply address’ settings accordingly. All new outgoing mail will now show your new email address. |
