POP3 mailboxesWith this method, you have an email account in addition to the one provided by your ISP. In Outlook Express, you simply select Tools:Accounts:Mail and then add a new email account. Click on the properties button, and then edit the ‘email address’ and ‘reply address’ settings accordingly. When you reach the ‘incoming mail’ POP3 server settings, you should enter ‘mail.eliotsgreen.com’ - the outgoing mail SMTP server settings should be the same as for your other email account (i.e. it should be as you have it now, with your ISP’s email server) The acccount name will be provided to you when I set it up, as will the initial access password. There will also be a web based control panel that will enable you to set up auto-responses to incoming messages, set a ‘vacation’ reply for when you are not going to be replying to mail for a while, and best of all a webmail control panel so that you can access your eliotsgreen.com email from any web-enabled computer. |
